Workshop Safety Is First

Painting is probably the quickest and cheapest fixes for your home. Your house is going to look better right away, and if you are selling, you will get back more money than you put into the project.

Mask the room and determine the order for painting the room. Paint last the areas that are likely to get dripped on. Prime and paint ceiling first, and walls second, and trim last. If you plan to prime the trim with a different tint than you will use on the walls, mask the trim first. Mask the top of the walls if you are painting the ceiling. Mask the ceiling and trim if you are starting with the walls.

Woodturning kicks up a lot of sawdust, especially during the sanding process. Much of this is fine and a danger to breathing. Even though wood is biodegradable, it stays in the lungs a long time and is a genuine health hazard. A dust mask should be worn during sanding and a good dust collector is a must. Some shops will use a separate dust collector for the extra fine dust that collects during sanding operations.

4). Scrub hard surfaces where mold is present with a brush or scouring pad dipped in warm water and mild laundry detergent. Allow to dry. Then using a home-remedy fungicide, wipe the surface and wait for 20 minutes. Repeat and wait for 20 minutes. Lastly, wipe surface area with a detergent solution which has borate as one its elements. Do not rinse.

Molds may seem harmless but in truth, they can cause more than just allergies. You can develop respiratory problems from prolonged inhalation of the molds. They also produce mycotoxins which may lead to neurological problems. With molds in your home, you are at risk of being exposed to too much of these mycotoxins which have also been the cause of death in some cases. Doing mold removal is just one way to prevent such things from happening. Also before hiring a basement waterproofing company make sure all the mold has been removed first.
